Record what you can see
Take a photograph of the whole frame and a close-up of the loose coating. Note whether the area is indoors or outdoors and when you noticed the change. Describe what you can actually see. A photo helps an initial conversation but does not replace an assessment of the surface.
Discuss preparation and repairs
Surface preparation and a suitable coating system matter for a lasting finish. Ask which existing layers will remain, what repairs are needed and which stages the quote includes. Have unclear items explained before work begins.
Keep a maintenance record
Do you know when the frame was last treated or which product was used? Gather receipts, previous quotes or leftover containers. After the work, ask for the product name and colour code. Take a new photograph. These details create a useful starting point for the next maintenance visit.
Take this into your project
- Take overall and close-up photographs.
- Ask which repair stages are included.
- Keep the product name, colour code and work date.
